Salvatore Palumbo is a self taught artist. His first medium was carving bars of soap as a child. Later Sal became interested in painting especially using oils. For a time he also did etching in lucite and glass, as well as carvings in wood and marble. Eventually Sal returned to his true love, painting landscapes, seascapes, and nature. His favorite medium is oil, but he also enjoys watercolor and acrylic.Sal is a current member of the Staten Island Artists’ Association, The Greene County Council on the Arts, Windham, N Y, and a former member of The Artist Federation S.I.
Sal’s art has been exhibited at The Conference House, Blue Heron Park, The Muddy Cup, Snug Harbor Cultural Center, and on Cable T.V.
Collectors of Sal’s art include residents of Staten Island, Gainesville and Palm Coast. Fla., Atlanta Ga., and Haines Falls and Windham N.Y.
