Barbara Sekulski spent twenty-five years as an elementary school teacher, many of those years working with the gifted. Before and during those years, she always managed to take art classes. While on sabbatical she took all the art classes available to her and on retiring continued classes. Now she still takes an occasional class but really enjoys work shops. Not only a member of three art groups, she has held many and various offices in these groups, since she feels you can't only take from a group, but you must also actively contribute.
Although she started to paint in oils she now paints mostly in acrylic and watercolor. She is influenced by her love of nature, music and dance. Visual memories of the many places she has traveled to also find their way into her art. She likes to try new things, to do things differently, to take on a challenge. She loves color and tries to convey movement. She hopes others enjoy her vision.
